UK Research and Innovation has recently published it’s vision for public engagement for how it will promote world-leading research and innovation that is built on the knowledge and values of society and open to people from all backgrounds. Please click here for more information.

Alongside the vision, UKRI has launched its first public engagement funding call for universities and community partners to test new ways to collaborate on research and innovation with under-represented communities. £0.5m is being made available to support research organisations UK-wide to pilot place-based public engagement partnerships and activities with a deadline of 17:00 on Monday 21 October 2019. Further information is here.

Led by UK Research and Innovation, Enhancing place-based partnerships in public engagement is a competitive £500K pathfinder funding opportunity to support eligible research organisations UK-wide to pilot place-based public engagement partnerships and activities. The call will support capacity building in collaborative, place-based public engagement between research organisations, partner organisations and communities. Projects and partnerships will be driven by a geographically defined community's need that can be approached by engagement with research and innovation and therefore shape and generate new learning opportunities
