UK Seafood Innovation Fund - Applications Now Open!
The UK Seafood Innovation Fund is now accepting applications for its second open call - with funding pots of up to £50k for scoping studies and up to £250k for full R&D projects available.
With 27 projects funded in 2019 - including initiatives using robotics, AI, fishing gear innovations, biomedical advances and more - the fund is now seeking a new tranche of applicants with plans to transform the future landscape for seafood supply.
The fund encourages bids from experts in the fishing, aquaculture and seafood processing sectors.
The call is competitive procurement process. EU - and UK - based public and private organisations, including academic institutions, are eligible to apply to the fund.
Collaborative bids - especially those forging new relationships between sectors - are encouraged. One organisation must apply as the lead supplier, but can subcontract with numerous organisations to deliver the project.
What is disruptive innovation?
We are particularly keen to see applications that bring novel innovation and technology to the seafood sector.
These 'disruptive innovations' should apply techniques, skills and processes that can improve on current practices and bring significant benefit to the sector.
The fund is broad in scope and is seeking to support innovation across the seafood supply chain.

Deadline is 20 April 2020.
