The new Atlas of the Sea is out

The Atlas provides information about Europe’s marine environment and how we use it. With new features and visuals, it enables citizens to explore, collate and create their own sea maps.

The Atlas aims to raise awareness of Europe's seas and coasts in the context of the EU's integrated maritime policy. It offers an ocean of information in a user-friendly way about topics such as nature, tourism, security, energy, passenger transport, sea bottom, sea level rise, fish consumption, and much, much more! It can be used for public interest, as an educational tool, for research purposes, or by professionals to enhance their knowledge or improve their products and services.

With the new release, users are now able to explore, collate and create their own maps.  They can print, share and embed them in articles and presentations.

Stay tuned! The first wave of communication activities about the Atlas starts this week with the “Map of the week”.  Each week, we will put the spotlight on a new map worth exploring. Take a moment to tune in and enhance your marine knowledge.
