Information "climate change: EU position & scientific conference#CFCC15"
Two items for your attention:
On 25 February, the European Commission released a communication to prepare the EU for the last round of the negotiations before the UN climate change conference in December 2015 (COP21, Paris). The communication is a key element in implementing the Commission’s priority of building a resilient Energy Union with a forward-looking climate change policy. It highlights that the ‘EU policies on… scientific research, innovation and technological cooperation, … could reinforce the EU’s international climate policy.” Further information can be obtained from the following links, or by clicking on the image to the left.
Our Common Future Under Climate Change
The International Scientific Conference, “Our Common Future Under Climate Change,” will take place at UNESCO (Paris) from 7-10 July 2015. This will be the largest forum for the scientific community to come together ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference at Paris (COP21) later this year. The call for contributions (oral and/or poster) has been extended until 10 March 2015. Please consult the themes for parallel sessions and its press conference by the #CFCC15 scientific committee announcing its objectives.
In the context of the upcoming EMB Forum, ‘The Ocean-Climate Nexus’, please communicate with researchers from your institutes about this event and encourage their participation.
