Challenger Society Deep-Sea Ecosystems Meeting: 14th November London
The next meeting of the Challenger Society Deep-Sea Ecosystems Special Interest Group will take place on Wednesday 14th November, 9:30-17:00, at the University of Liverpool’s London Campus, 33 Finsbury Square, EC2A 1AG.
This meeting will take place the day after the “Beyond Challenger: a new age of deep-sea science and exploration” at the Royal Society, London on the 12th and 13th November. That meeting will explore how recent developments in autonomous and robotic technologies could bring about a step-change in deep-sea research, ultimately revolutionising understanding of global biodiversity.
There will be a poster session at 17:00 on Monday 12th November at the Beyond Challenger discussion meeting. If you would like to apply to present a poster please submit your proposed title, abstract (not more than 200 words and in third person), author list, name of the proposed presenter and institution to the Scientific Programmes team with the subject heading "Beyond Challenger: poster abstract" no later than Monday 1 October 2018. Please note that places are limited and posters are selected at the scientific organiser's discretion. Poster abstracts will only be considered if the presenter is registered to attend the meeting.
The focus of the Deep-Sea SIG meeting will be to take discussions arising from the Royal Society Event forward. This is also an opportunity for members of the Deep-Sea community to present their research who could not do so at Beyond Challenger.
Both the Beyond Challenger Event and the Deep-Sea Ecosystems SIG meeting are FREE to attend.
Register by email to Heather Stewart (subject line “Challenger Deep-Sea SIG”). Abstract submission deadline 12th October 2018.
We look forward to seeing you in London 12-14th November.
