The Strathclyde Ecological Modelling group seeks a postdoctoral scholar to undertake a 6-month research project in support of a new effort to link long-term declines in the survival of wild Atlantic salmon to changes in ocean conditions. This position is funded by The Fishmongers' Company in partnership with the Scotland-based charity Atlantic Salmon Trust, with the intention 1) to advance a new research initiative that brings together historical plankton data, oceanographic models, and salmon biology, and 2) to provide a training opportunity for a promising early-career ecologist, oceanographer, or data scientist who wants to learn more about these methods or the grand challenge in marine conservation posed by wild salmon in UK waters.
