Come and hear about the new 25-year hindcast of the Scottish Shelf Model (SSM) and network with other SSM users!

The Scottish Shelf Waters Reanalysis Service (SSW-RS). The SSW-RS is a 25-year (1993-2017) physical reanalysis of the Scottish Shelf Model (SSM). This data product showcases the transformation of Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) products into a user-oriented downstream service, not only through the increased high resolution and quality of the oceanographic data being made available to users, but also through strengthening the already well established relationship between the service developers and their users and stakeholders.  Please follow the link below for more information about this service:

As part of the delivery of the service, Marine Scotland Science (MSS) will host an information event,November 3rd 2020. This will provide an opportunity to learn more about the SSM and the SSW-RS. The one day event will include:

  • Information on SSM and the reanalysis service
  • Technical details of the model setup and forcing
  • Getting started with SSW-RS
  • What can SSW-RS do for you?
  • Discussion and networking

We are aiming for a physical event held at Victoria Quay in Edinburgh. However, considering the current COVID-19 situation we might decide that a virtual event is the only sensible alternative.
