Invitation to Tay and Forth Joint Annual Conference 2017

Forth Estuary Forum & Tay Estuary Forum,

Friday 15th September 2017
West Park Conference Centre in Dundee

(kindly sponsored by Red Rock Power Ltd)

We have a wide-ranging selection of presentations this year, focusing on coastal development and impacts to people and the environment, all with a Forth, Tay and Scottish Borders focus. This is to improve partnership working between the two adjacent Coastal Fora in advance of formal marine planning along Scotland's East Coast. While no Marine Planning Partnership has yet been created in this region, the two Coastal Partnerships of Tay and Forth are currently working more closely together to align issues and to start the ground work for implementing marine planning for this stretch of coast in the near future. We think hosting a joint conference will help us in achieving this and in hearing your views at this early stage

So we look forward to a busy but an informative day, with you, in helping us highlight the key priorities for 2017 and beyond. Registration is now open and via the Forth Estuary Forum secretariat- please see the attached booking form. Our programme is currently being finalised and will include the following key topics, and plenty more:

  • Forth Replacement Crossing Project
  • Flood risk- Building engagement, relationships and collaboration through the Scottish Borders Climate Resilient Communities action-research project
  • Offshore Renewables Update for the East Coast- Red Rock Power Ltd
  • Social Change at the Coast- our changing coastal communities
  • Cruise traffic on the Forth and Tay and associated opportunities
  • Marine Scotland Update- with a Forth/Tay regional focus
  • Addressing constraints to coastal works – assessing noise disturbance to birds

Students are very welcome to attend at a discounted rate and are invited to present a poster on their relevant research
